Beverly Pote, Bridgewater, Aug. 26, 2016

Beverly Nadine Pote was born on March 5, 1933, in Washington Township, Adair County, Iowa, the daughter of Clyde and Valda (Goodale) Wyllie. She passed away on Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, at the Greater Regional Hospice Home in Creston, Iowa, at the age of 83.

Beverly attended country school and graduated in 1951 from Bridgewater High School. She was united in marriage to Jake Pote on July 15, 1951. To this union three daughters were born: Penny, Paula and Patty.

Bev worked as a farm wife, gardener and cooked at the Bridgewater Elementary School for 20 years. Bev and Jake spent many hours attending their daughters’, grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s school, 4-H and sport activities. Bev attended auctions and garage sales, finding many antique treasures. Bev was a member of the United Methodist Church in Bridgewater. She helped with fall bazaars and quilted for several years with the ladies.

She is preceded in death by Jake; her parents; Jake’s parents, Paul and Edna Pote; her step-father, George Kordick; and great-granddaughter Odessa Livingston.

She is survived by her daughters, Penny (Ralph) Cooper of Adair, Paula (Rob) Livingston of Fontanelle and Patty Jacobson of Fontanelle; 7 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter: Travis (Valdie) Cooper and their children, Ashley, Logan, Zoe and Maxwell of Virginia; Stella, Ashley’s daughter, Kelly (Kim) Cooper and their children, Jacob, Colten, Dillan, Jennifer, Geoff and Jerika of Casey; Warren (Renea) Livingston, their children, Genevieve, Adelaide and Truman of Fontanelle; Owen Livingston of Fontanelle; Kris (Dave) Riley, their boys, Nate and Jack of Ankeny; Andy (Nicole) Jacobson and their children, Drew and Macy of Osceola; Eric (Meredith) Jacobson and their children, Ben and Allie of Ankeny; two brothers, Vernon Burdette Wyllie of White City, Oregon, and Terry (Norma) Wyllie of Atlantic; two nephews, Gerald Wayne (Darlene) Pote and Fred (Sandy) Pote, both of the Omaha, Nebraska area; other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was held Aug. 29 at Steen Funeral Home, Fontanelle, with Pastor Lauri Greenlee officiating.

Music was recorded selections “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art.”

Pallbearers were Warren Livingston, Andy Jacobson, Eric Jacobson, Dave Riley, Kelly Cooper and Jacob Cooper.

Honorary pallbearers were Owen Livingston, Kris Riley and Travis Cooper.

Floral committee was Brian and Pam Christensen and Daryl and Julie Christensen.

Interment was at Witt Cemetery, Bridgewater, Iowa.
